Do you have a crafty tip you would like to share?Art is is art if you say it is. Don’t allow anyone to tell you otherwise.
What would you say to anyone looking to start a new craft?Find something that you enjoy doing, because doing something because it’s the thing to do will become boring and tedious at the same time; which will cause you to quit.
What’s your favorite time to craft and why?Don’t tell nobody but during work hours…well during my breaks.
How do you maintain work/ family balance?I ask for a lot of help and I accept it when it is offered. I had to do away with the “I can do it all” mindset, because I can’t.
How did you get your idea or concept for the business? My twins asked for school supplies with images on them that they could relate with. The found a lot of cool notebooks but not a single one had an image of a brown girl on them so they asked me to create one for them.
What is unique about your business?I create all of my own images and they usually start to take on the features of the person I have on my mind while drawing them. This is all done unintentionally.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?I can’t even imagine.
What sets your business apart from others in the same industry.I create my own images and design my own products. I am a one person show.
What has been the biggest challenge in your business and why?The biggest challenge was finding a balance between work, home and Cocoa Twins. Asking for help and accepting it helped out tremendously.
