Artist Showcase Guidelines
During the The Artist Showcase, we will enjoy the works of African American Artisans from the community. We encourage all artists and creatives from the Black Girls Craft community to submit work for the Artist Showcase! Our goal is to display work from as many artists as possible, but display space is limited and we may not be able to accommodate all submissions.
Art is subjective but for this showcase, we are looking for the following pieces:
- Paintings
- Sculptures
- Resin Art
- Mixed Media
- Pottery
- Textile Art
- Mosaics
- Metal Work
- Woodwork
Submission Guidelines:
- Art must be submitted by an individual artist and has to be ORIGINAL. We will not accept digital replicas
- Art must be appropriate for public display and must not be offensive or condescending towards any race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation
- Work delivered for display in the Artist Showcase must be the work pictured or likeness submitted in this submission—no unapproved changes may be made.
- 2D artwork must be mounted and ready-to-hang.
- 3D artwork must be freestanding, or fit in the enclosed pedestal/vitrine size 23" x 24" x 24".
artist statement:
If accepted to the Artist Showcase, your name appears in the exhibit program along with an Artist Statement. Please use the Artist Statement to describe information about yourself and your work. Artwork installation includes tags with Title, Artist, and Price (if applicable). Artwork sales information may be included in your Artist Statement, and must include a way for buyers to contact you.
Sales of Work:
Although you have the option of displaying your art for display purposes only, you may also submit your art for sale. Artists are responsible for all sales of their work, and must communicate with customers directly. If your work is for sale, you must include a way for interested buyers to contact you in your "Artist Statement" in the previous section. Artist Showcase receives no commission on sales. Artists maintain 100% of their sales.
